What you need to do
The core is free to use. Enterprise features, kept in a separately licensed part of the code, need a paid license in production.
For Netdata
The Agent is GPL-3.0-or-later. Its dashboard is closed source under NCUL1: free, but only for use with Netdata’s own Agent and Cloud, and you may not modify it. Team features such as RBAC and SSO are in the paid Netdata Cloud.
GPL-3.0 (Agent) + closed-source dashboard (NCUL1) · Open source (copyleft). OSI-approved license that requires sharing changes under the same license when you distribute (AGPL: also when you offer it over a network).
