What you need to do
The core is free to use. Enterprise features, kept in a separately licensed part of the code, need a paid license in production.
For AppFlowy
The desktop and mobile apps are AGPL-3.0. Sharing workspaces needs AppFlowy’s server, now a closed-source commercial product: the self-hosted edition is free for one user seat and three guest editors, paid beyond that. The old AGPL server (AppFlowy-Cloud) is no longer maintained.
AGPL-3.0 (apps) + closed-source self-hosted server · Open source (copyleft). OSI-approved license that requires sharing changes under the same license when you distribute (AGPL: also when you offer it over a network).
