What you need to do
The core is free to use. Enterprise features, kept in a separately licensed part of the code, need a paid license in production.
For AFFiNE
The editor and apps are MIT, and the server code shipped in the Community Edition is MPL-2.0. Server features outside the Community Edition need a paid Enterprise Edition subscription for production use.
MIT (apps) + MPL-2.0 (Community Edition server) + AFFiNE Enterprise Edition license · Open source (copyleft). OSI-approved license that requires sharing changes under the same license when you distribute (AGPL: also when you offer it over a network).
